Gifts from Aunt Dawn and Uncle Lars and Cousin Lauren

Dear Holmberg's,
We want to thank you for loving our daughter and keeping her in your thoughts and prayers. Our prayers have been answered, and we feel blessed to be adopting this precious child.
Dawn I will bring these gifts to Leah when we return to Ust Kamenogorsk to pick her up. Please know the Holmberg family will always be a special part of Leah's adoption story and the miracle of how we met you. We look forward to bringing these girls back together for a reunion in the USA and also to sharing a special bond with the three of you.

Lars and Dawn Holmberg thanks for loving me too....

Leah Natalya Young. I am 7 months old here. My friend Lauren Holmberg is with me in this crib. Lauren was being adopted by Lars and Dawn Holmberg of Washington State when this picture was taken. Lauren's Mom and Dad fell in love with me also when they were adopting Lauren. If they could have adopted me, Lauren and I would probably be sisters today. However God had a different plan. So as the months past after Lauren went to live with her forever family, the Holmbergs never forgot me and continued to pray for me and kept me in their thoughts. Unconditional love is so powerful.
As you all know I have been adopted by the Young Family from Long Island,NY. The way they came to have these photos is thru divine intervention. Dawn Holmberg just happened upon The Young Family Adoption Miracle blog and placed it in her favorite places a few weeks before my family travelled to Ust Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan to meet me. Dawn didnt read the saved blog until after my family arrived in Ust Kamenogorsk. When she finally opened the blog she saw me Leah Natalya Young at age 14 months. The other child they also fell in love with and havent forgotten since adopting Lauren. Dawn's prayers for me were answered and the Holmbergs had a front row seat to my adoption story, because they prayed for and loved me. The Holmbergs immediately emailed my Mom and Dad in Kazakhstan to tell them about this miracle and to send these photos of me when I was just 7 months old. So now not only do I have a Mom and Dad and brother but I also have an Aunt Dawn, Uncle Lars and a cousin Lauren who I am going to get to see again once I get to my forever home. Both Mom and Dad and Aunt Lauren and Uncle Lars have promised to bring us back together again in the USA.

Aunt Dawn,Uncle Lars and Lauren, Thanks for the welcome home gifts of Love from my Heart to a precious sweet little girl ( a great book) and the MagiQ Tiny Love DVD and Active Pal. I am not even home yet and you have sent me gifts. How lucky am I......

We Left Our Hearts in Ust Kamenogorsk

We arrived home last Sunday afternoon around 4pm. Our lay over in Almaty was trying, the apartment we were taken to was very nice and had A/C a real luxury, however after driver and translator left us at 2 pm with a plan to return at 12:30pm, we locked the door and tried to rest. Not being able to sleep I wanted to go to the local store to buy a bottle of water and soda only to find out we were locked in a 3rd floor walk up studio apt. The lock on the door broke after we locked our selves in and no matter what we did we could not get out. Needless to say anxiety set in big time because foolishly we didnt ask for the translators phone number nor did we have the address to the apt. Calling for help would be futile as no one speaks English, and we couldnt even tell anyone where we were. Note to self , ALWAYS get the address of where you are staying and a phone number. After we both verbalized our discomfort of our situation to each other with our 12 year old watching, we realized that it was a good thing we found out at 3:30PM and had 9 hours to get help to get us out. I called our translator in Ust Kamenogorsk who kind of chuckled and reassured us she would get us help. She did and at 10:30pm the lock came flying across the room and the door opened with the Russian speaking owner very apologetic. Needless to say when the driver and translator returned at 12:30 pm we were already exhausted and we still had the 2 longest flights in front of us. Well we survived and arrived home at 4:00PM Sunday afternoon. It took most of the week to recover from our ordeal in Almaty and jet lag.

We are all missing Leah, and cannot wait until we return to Kazakhstan to bring her home for good. Our mandatory 15 day waiting period is over on Aug 21 and then we can obtain the judges decree, her new birth certificate, her passport and her visa. Obtaining these documents we are told takes another additional 12 days. So again we wait. Our travel plans are up in the air right now as we are negotiating our return date with our agency.
We pray for our daughter each day we are apart and also for all the children in her baby house and throughout the world who go to sleep each night without a mommy and a daddy to love and cherish them. If you are in the process of international adoption a child does wait just for you. If you are considering international adoption we highly recommend it. This journey of the heart is a wonderous experience and truly a leap of faith with God at the helm.

Until We Meet Again

Our Children Christopher and Leah

Tonight as we brought Leah back to her caregivers a silence came upon us. Each one of us told her we love her and prayed to God to keep her safe. We leave Kazakhstan a family who experienced great joy in the 23 days we spent on our adoption journey. The miracle we have been granted is awesome. We have all learned so much about life, love, faith and hope on this journey. As we left the Hope Room Leah reached out her hand to us and we will never forget the smile on her face. Of course we could not get out of the room without tears and I think when the caregivers saw Leah's brother in tears they too became emotional. They assured us they would explain to her every day where we are and that we will we back soon. We left a photo album of pictures of us together as a family in the play ground area at the baby house to show her in our absence.
In our hearts we know Leah is in the care of angles who love her. So again in faith we leave Kazakhstan in the morning for our return home. This photo was taken today not long before we said ALOHA to Leah which means UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN........ Posted by Picasa
